D9531 'A' End Vacuum exhausters, a matched pair from a class 47, have been installed. These are refurbished with the necessary framework acquired from the Nene Valley Railway. The exhausters sit above the transmission heat-exchager. With the 'new' power unit on the loco, connections for water, oil and fuel systems have been steadily completed. All new silicone pipe has been cut for the flexible connections along with new jubilee clips, some of which have been modified and welded to suit precise applications. New fuel pumps have been aquired, one of the two having now been fitted. New bleed pipes have been contructed running from the water header with modifications made as required. Some 'fine tuning' has been required to line up the large water pipes in places! The water system has been filled and tested allowing further modifications and handfull of minor leaks repairs to be made. |
