Source and fit vacuum exhausters (from an as yet unidentified scrap class 47). This will allow
the associated pipework to be completed. The exhausters are housed in the 'A' end of the loco
whilst all other brake equipment is in the 'B' end.
Install power unit in the 'A' end.
Source and fit air tanks (Ex-Class 31) in the 'B' end nose roof and carry out
strengthening work to the 'B' end sideframes so they can hold the extra weight.
Brake frame components to be refurbished or replaced as necessary and braking system pipework
to the cab to be completing.
