D9531 Railtour 2003 - [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] In an unprecidented agreement made last week Class 14 Diesel Hydraulic D9531 is to return to the main line - The move has been in the pipeline for quite a while but the successful main line runs by fellow Hydraulic D1015 have helped in finalising the return of another hydraulic to railtrack metals. A railtour has already been booked to run on the 2nd of August 2003. This date was agreed as D9531 will be ready for traffic midway through 2003 and not being ETS fitted a summer tour was essential. Places will of course be limited as in order to attain the loco's top speed of 45mph the train will consist of only 4 Mk1 coaches - including two sleeping cars. A trolley service will operate for hot and cold drinks but it is advised to bring a large pack of party pies and crisps.
